Stressed about work? You’re not alone: Upwards of 60 percent of workers say that work only lags behind money as a significant source of stress in their lives. The reasons why work causes us stress are varied, of course: Some of us have too much to do. Some of us are worried about the future of our workplaces. And all that stress can make us act out, at home and at work—snapping at co-workers, feeling anxious or fatigued to name just a few symptoms.
But work doesn’t have to be the guide for everything and anything we feel. There are steps each and every one of us can take to diffuse situations and to regain control of our emotions. Subtle physical movement from the comfort of your own office chair is a start. So, too, are other calming tactics—listening to music, for example.
